Job Description

Core BTS seeks a Network Engineer to maintain the daily operations of the computer network and perform technical duties relating to the installation, configuration and management of network operating system software and communications hardware. Primary duties include:

  • Cisco Administration and Support: Route/Switch and other related Cisco products, and Cisco hardware
  • Working knowledge of Cisco ISE and Firepower
  • Recommends, plans, develops and implements network configuration changes and/or upgrades to maintain appropriate levels of service to user community
  • Operates the control console(s) of network systems to monitor performance, resolve problems and upgrade systems
  • Develops and monitors Local Area and Wide Area Network (LAN and WAN) performance and utilization statistics and prepares periodic reports for management summarizing network status

Qualifications

A combination of education and experience in computer networking or related field and working knowledge in the following areas is required:

  • Working knowledge of ISE, Firepower, and other related Cisco products and Cisco hardware.  
  • Thorough knowledge of network communication concepts as they relate to network topology, communication and data transfer protocols, hubs, switches, routers, servers and cabling.
  • Ability to create and maintain diagrammatic representations of network configurations.
  • Experience with storage engineering, wide-area networking, and network virtualization.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to identify, deploy, and manage complex networking systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

The compensation for this role is between $50-55 per hour, depending on experience. Â
