Job Description & Skills: Network Control Analyst
Job Requirements: To support & monitor WAN/LAN network communication platforms for the Sears Holding Corporation.
Specifications:
Monitors and supports all WAN and LAN communications for processing on all remote locations to meet corporate deliverables and online availability targets.
Will be required to perform first level troubleshooting and fault isolation for communication problems on the WAN/LAN. This includes escalation of issues to the appropriate second level support and vendors.
Will be required to monitor and support the wide area network utilizing a number of monitoring applications
First level support for hardware and software communications problems on distributed platforms and network WAN/LAN problems.
Analyst will be required to use appropriate utilities and system monitoring tools to identify and resolve communication issues (T1, DS3, analog, Terrestrial and Satellite communications, etc…). Candidate will be responsible for reporting and initiating problem recovery in order to maintain online availability.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Knowledge or experience in TCP/IP, Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks.
Must be knowledgeable and have a background data communications protocols.
Knowledge in more than one of the following areas or operating devices is desired:
· Cisco routers and switches
· Nortel Routers and switches
· Token Ring
· Ethernet
· ClearQuest
· Microsoft office applications (EXCEL, Word, ACCESS)
· FTP
· UNIX system operation
Analyst must have good communication, organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
Must be able to respond well to problems or challenges under pressure.
Must have good oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
Must have good phone skills
Position hours:
Sunday – Tuesday and every other Saturday: 6:00 to 18:00
