Job description

Responsibilities The Engineer will assist the Sponsor by using engineering principles for hardware, software, and systems, and/or network engineering to support applicable requirements for building, analyzing, and managing a system of systems. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: * Monitoring active systems and infrastructure and supporting the installation, configuration, integration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and systems management tools. * Assist Senior Engineer(s) as it relates to hardware in the design, development, examination, testing, integration, and modification of computer systems and related electrical systems, servers, chips, peripherals, and circuit boards as required.
* Assist Senior Engineer(s) as it relates to software in applying principles of engineering to the design, development, maintenance, integration, testing, and evaluation of software that support the intended operations of computers, systems, or other items containing such software, as required. To include the development of appropriate software and design documentation.
* Assist Senior Engineer(s) As it relates networks in the creation, management, and integration of information technology networks. To include providing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes and security configurations, and troubleshooting complex network issues involving various factors; monitoring network performance to ensure availability and reliability. Supports the configuration and installation of various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS). In addition to the above, the Engineer labor category shall include support for requirements related to development of tools, systems, and processes for Artificial Intelligence.
Qualifications * Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
* BS 5-7, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2
* Demonstrated experience supporting system monitoring, installation, configuration, integration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
* Demonstrated experience supporting network engineering activities, including configuration, integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT networks.
* Demonstrated experience performing system upgrades, patching, and security configuration (e.g., service packs, patches, hotfixes).
* Demonstrated experience monitoring system and network performance to ensure availability and reliability.
* Demonstrated experience configuring and supporting network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, QoS).
* Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex system and network issues across multiple domains (hardware, software, network).
* Demonstrated experience supporting or developing technical tools, systems, or processes related to automation or Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Preferred: * CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570/8140 baseline).
* CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
