Job description

Position Summary

Junior Network Engineers support the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure in support of the customer's requirements, working as members of a network operations team under the guidance of more experienced engineers. Junior Network Engineers assist with implementation of routing and switching changes, support Tier I/II troubleshooting of connectivity and performance issues, and help maintain accurate network documentation. Junior Network Engineers are expected to build foundational networking depth while contributing reliably to the stability of mission-critical network operations.


Requirements

US Citizenships and TS/SCI with Polygraph (no exceptions)


Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 0-3 years of relevant professional network engineering experience; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered


Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/CAN) configuration and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VPN)
  • Exposure to network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Brocade)
  • Basic understanding of network security principles and secure design practices
  • Working toward or holding DoD 8140/8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) certification
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a network operations team
