Description
RedSky is seeking a highly qualified ServiceNow Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a critical technical role, primarily remote with periodic onsite support required in Chantilly, VA and Bluemont, VA. The ServiceNow SME will provide expert-level technical leadership throughout the planning, migration, configuration, integration, and sustainment of ServiceNow platforms for secure and air-gapped federal environments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and document ServiceNow system architecture (including DoDAF/FEAF compliance) and technical topography, producing essential as-is, to-be, and transition state architectures.
  • Architect, implement, and document a secure ServiceNow solution on Nutanix infrastructure, integrated with on-premises Active Directory, YubiKey, and other authentication systems.
  • Configure and optimize ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, ITAM), establish and manage role-based access controls, and remove demonstration data to produce clean, client-ready environments.
  • Develop and execute data migration strategies, including transformation mapping, ETL processes, and validation using ServiceNow CMDB Health dashboards.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with third-party solutions (e.g., Tanium, Splunk), configure connectors, manage data imports, and ensure ongoing compliance with federal logging and monitoring requirements.
  • Work closely with solution center teams and government stakeholders to align technical deliverables, document progress, report risks, and ensure continuous improvement via Agile reviews.
  • Support O&M operations post-deployment, including configuration updates, health monitoring, instance patching, and iterative enhancements.
  • Assist with stakeholder training, user adoption efforts, and system acceptance testing.
  • Produce technical documentation and reports supporting each project phase and deliverable.
Qualifications:
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification and/or additional certifications in ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, HAM, or SAM strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

  • Minimum 8 years hands-on experience with ServiceNow implementation, configuration, and sustainment in secure government environments
  • Demonstrated expertise with ServiceNow module configuration, system integrations, and large-scale data migrations.
  • Experience implementing role-based access controls and managing authentication integration (e.g., Active Directory, MFA, YubiKey).
  • Strong background in ITSM/ITIL methodology and agile/hybrid delivery models.
  • Proven ability to produce technical architecture documentation in accordance with federal frameworks (DoDAF/FEAF).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience leading technical discussions and stakeholder briefings.
