Job description

The Manager, Network Infrastructure is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and ongoing management of a secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise network environment. This role provides technical leadership and people management for the network infrastructure team while ensuring alignment with organizational goals, security standards, and best practices.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on and leadership experience across modern enterprise networking platforms including Next Generation Firewalls, Network Access Control solutions, and SD WAN technologies. Experience with key Cisco capabilities such as secure access, automation, or data center networking is valuable. This role partners closely with cybersecurity, systems, and application teams to support mission-critical services and drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include overseeing network architecture, managing operational performance, leading projects and upgrades, mentoring staff, and ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of both campus and data center networks.
Position is on site M-F
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We are not offering sponsorship to applicants for employment visa status.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Manages network operations, systems, and staff.
  • Develops, manages, and reports on all activities associated with performance and reliability of network components and services.
  • Researches and provides strategic direction on the use of new products and technology including routers, switches, network management, security operations, wireless technologies.
  • Oversees change management and related audit activities associated with the network environment including documentation requirements, scheduled outages, and operational procedures.
  • Ensures proactive monitoring of network related components and quick resolution by establishing strong documentation, notification and escalation procedures in a 24x7 network environment where uptime, response, and repair are critical to servicing all impacting issues.
  • Hires, manages, and evaluates staff.
  • Interfaces with other departments and participates in defining appropriate technology standards to use within the organization's existing architecture.
  • Develops project plans to align with the goals and priorities of the division and the organization.
  • Re-defines and meets service level agreements (SLA) and delivers upon SLAs required by different internal customers.
  • Maintains and grows partnerships with IT vendors and providers
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources in a non-profit organization. Knowledge of organizational strategies and ability to apply those strategies in practice.
  • Able to manage multiple, complex, short-term projects and incidents simultaneously.
  • Familiarity and operational experience with Enterprise/carrier-class routers and switches. Familiarity with Load Balancers and operational experience across multiple vendors.
  • Familiar with network security features including Firewalls, ACLs, VPN, Cisco ACI, Cisco ISE/DNA). Familiar with Wireless technologies across multiple vendors.
  • Knowledge of network switching protocols and network routing protocols.
  • Understanding of the rigors of operating a national, 24x7x365 large scale network, and high-severity and business impacting issues, including the design and support of multiple data centers and disaster recovery and business continuity scenarios.
  • High degree of initiative and dependability.
  • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation; excellent critical thinking, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization and with external contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to successfully lead a team of associates.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of network / systems administration experience including management required.
  • On-call (continuously or rotationally) to provide support required.
  • Ability to provide own transportation (mileage reimbursed) to complete travel requirements of the job required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Network or managerial certifications preferred.
