Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller to lead Case-Mate’s accounting operations and help build the systems, controls, and team capabilities needed to support continued growth. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting leader who combines strong technical fundamentals with sound business judgment, enjoys improving how work gets done, and is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. The Corporate Controller will lead a domestic and international accounting team of six.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Lead and maintain oversight of the company’s accounting operations, including the general ledger, inventory accounting and controls, accounts payable and receivable, customer incentive programs, transportation and customs costs, treasury activities, cash forecasting, debt compliance, and tax compliance.
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Prepare and present financial statements and reporting packages for executive leadership, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the annual audit and maintain productive relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls to strengthen financial reporting and reduce operational risk.

NetSuite ERP

  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to improve NetSuite workflows, reporting, integrations, and overall system effectiveness.
  • Build clear documentation, training, and consistent accounting practices across the team.

Entrepreneurial Initiatives

  • Lead accounting and finance transformation initiatives that improve scalability, efficiency, data quality, and internal controls.
  • Partner with department leaders to translate financial and operational data into practical insights, stronger decisions, and improved business performance.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing domestic and international accounting team of six.
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A, Supply Chain, Sales, E-commerce, and IT to align financial systems and processes with business needs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and senior leadership by identifying risks, opportunities, and actionable financial insights.


Required Qualifications

  • Active CPA certification in good standing.
  • Public accounting experience with a Big 4, national, regional, or comparable firm preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful leadership experience at the Controller or Assistant Controller level.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and the full close cycle.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP; direct NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in consumer products, CPG, retail, e-commerce, inventory-based businesses, or a similarly complex operating environment.

Preferred Industry Experience

  • Exposure to multi-entity, international, or multi-channel operations is a plus.
