Job Summary

Are you passionate about cloud technologies and eager to develop innovative cloud-based solutions? NetApp's Azure NetApp Files (ANF) team is building industry-leading cloud storage services that power mission-critical enterprise workloads in Microsoft Azure.

We are looking for a highly motivated engineers to help develop and operate cloud-scale distributed systems that span storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, and user experience. This is a unified engineering role where engineers are expected to contribute across development, automated validation, performance, operational readiness, and service reliability. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical challenges, takes ownership from design through production, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.While programming language experience, we expect engineers to incorporate AI-native engineering practices. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Own the functional, performance and scalability of data plane rich with data management.  
  • Own features through the entire software lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support. 
  • Design, develop, and operate cloud-native services leveraging containers, microservices, distributed systems principles, and modern CI/CD practices. 
  • Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, code reviews, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions spanning storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and customer-facing experiences. 
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to help drive technical excellence and engineering best practices. 
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term reliability, scalability, and operational improvements. 
  • Work closely with product management, architects, and partner teams to translate customer and business requirements into high-quality technical solutions. 
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts, design tradeoffs, and project status to stakeholders across the organization. 
  • Contribute to the technical growth of the team through knowledge sharing, code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship opportunities.
Job Requirements
  • Experience with Python for test automation, validation frameworks, tooling, CI/CD integration, or operational automation. 
  • Familiarity with C/C++, GO, React, TypeScript, or C# is desirable for engineers to work across existing service components and user-facing workflows. 
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs or service-to-service integrations. 
  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating microservices-based applications using Kubernetes, containers, and modern CI/CD practices. 
  • Experience with software quality practices including automated testing, performance optimization, and security best practices. 
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, telemetry, and operational excellence practices. 
  • Knowledge building and operating cloud-native distributed systems in Azure, AWS, or GCP. 
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative and analytical approach to problem solving.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 100,300 - 149,600 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
