Job description

Overview:

Client is seeking an experienced Senior Lead Field Technician to support transformer and switchboard service operations at customer sites nationwide. This handson technical role focuses on maintenance, testing, and reliability of medium and highvoltage equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance on oilfilled transformers and switchgear systems.
  • Diagnose electrical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to meet service deadlines.
  • Supervise refurbishing activities at the HQ.
  • Ensure safety compliance and adherence to company service standards.
  • Document service activity and maintain accurate equipment and field reports.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to clients regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Travel to project locations throughout the U.S. as needed.

Qualifications:

  • NETA Level III certification (required).
  • Minimum 10 years of handson experience with medium/highvoltage transformer systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small field service teams.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control circuits, and field diagnostic methods.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with consistent attention to quality and safety.
  • Valid driver s license and ability to travel for project assignments.
  • Additional training or certification in transformer service is preferred.
