Summary:

The Hanwha Aerospace USA Quality Engineer will be responsible for all activities associated with the Quality function reporting directly to the Quality Manager.


Essential Functions:

  • Ownership of quality performance of assigned part numbers/family.
  • Creation of FAIRs and review of FAIRs as needed through net inspect.
  • Participation and ownership of PPAP for assigned parts from NPI state through full approval.
  • Ensure process and procedures defined in the Quality Management System (QMS) are understood and followed as necessary to maintain Quality System Approvals.
  • Lead and support internal and external audit activities (System, NADCAP, Customer, etc.) as required to meet requirements and maintain approvals.
  • Ensure export compliance is maintained at all times.
  • Drive robust RCCA process to eliminate quality issues from assigned parts/family.
  • Drive and support process improvements to improve quality of assigned part numbers/family.
  • Contract Review (Customer PO, requirements, and drawings specifications).
  • Balloon customer drawings & associated documents.
  • Gaging reviews & special gaging requirements / purchase.
  • Perform Gage R&R Studies (MSA).
  • Create IMS as needed.
  • Validate and correlate CMM Programs as needed.
  • Coordinate customer submittals & approvals related to product quality.
  • Utilize statistical software to establish, analyze and address quality process control data.
  • Attend regular SPC review sessions with engineering to develop and implement action plans that drive continuous and sustainable process improvements.
  • Perform other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
  • High School Degree or G.E.D required
  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing or aerospace environment.



Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructions.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level.
  • Ability to travel 5-10% when required.
  • Knowledge of KPCs and implement process improvements to drive KPC CPK values above targets.
  • Knowledge of Export Control requirements and controls.
  • Knowledge of statistical software such as, but not limited to, Prolink, QC Calc, Net Inspect, Minitab.
