Net Developer Night Shift information

What is a net developer night shift?

Net Developer Night Shift jobs involve working as a .NET software developer during nighttime hours, typically outside of the standard 9-to-5 work schedule. Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications using Microsoft’s .NET framework. These roles may support businesses with 24/7 operations, handle urgent technical issues, or collaborate with international teams in different time zones. Night shift developers should be comfortable working independently, troubleshooting issues, and may receive additional pay or benefits for working non-traditional hours.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a net developer night shift?

To thrive as a Net Developer Night Shift, you need strong skills in C#, ASP.NET, SQL databases, and a relevant degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with Visual Studio, version control systems like Git, and experience working with RESTful APIs are typically required, along with certifications such as Microsoft Certified: .NET Developer. Excellent problem-solving, self-motivation, and effective communication are crucial soft skills, especially for independent work during night hours. These competencies ensure high-quality software development, efficient troubleshooting, and seamless collaboration with teams across different shifts.

What are some unique challenges faced by .NET developers working night shifts, and how can they effectively manage them?

.NET Developers working night shifts may encounter challenges such as limited real-time collaboration with daytime teams, adjusting to a different sleep schedule, and potentially handling critical support issues independently. To effectively manage these challenges, it's important to establish clear communication protocols with day teams, utilize collaboration tools, and maintain detailed documentation. Prioritizing self-care and a consistent routine can also help in maintaining productivity and well-being during non-traditional hours.

Job description

Position Description: Company Overview
Ameritex Machine and Fabrication is a high mix low volume sheet metal and structural fabrication facility that uses a variety of equipment such as CNC Fiber Lasers, CNC punch presses, CNC press brakes, CNC panel benders, and tube lasers to support over 19 production and assembly lines. The company serves customers in energy, oil and gas, automotive, electric vehicle, and aerospace. We operate out of a state of the art 100,000 sqft facility in Conroe, Texas.
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Salvagnini Operator / Programmer to cover our night and weekend production shift. This is a hands-on, dual-responsibility role: you will both program and run the machine yourself — not hand off one to someone else. You'll be a member of our flexible, cross-trained CNC team, programming and operating Salvagnini panel benders and related CNC equipment (lasers, punches, tube lasers, press brakes) with minimal supervision during off-hours. To be successful in this role, you should have hands-on experience programming and operating CNC fabrication equipment, strong attention to detail, and the self-motivation to keep production moving independently during nights and weekends.
Essential Duties
Program AND operate the Salvagnini panel bender and associated CNC equipment — this role owns both ends of the job, from writing the program to running it on the shop floor.
Meet and exceed standards set by the estimating department while utilizing equipment to its fullest capabilities.
Set up jobs, verify material and tooling, and validate that programs process through the machine with the desired quality and safety.
Read blueprints and drawings to determine characteristics required to program and run each job.
Use Salvagnini software (including panel bender and automation interfaces), CADMAN Suite, and/or Artube to create, optimize, and manage CNC programs.
Make machine and tooling selections to manufacture parts in the most cost-effective manner.
Optimize nesting, cut quality, bend accuracy, and cycle times to improve throughput and material utilization.
Independently troubleshoot part quality, fit-up, forming, and machine issues during the shift, escalating to a supervisor or on-call lead when needed.
Maintain setup sheets, job travelers, and programming notes for handoff to the day shift.
Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work area in compliance with facility housekeeping policies.
Wears required safety equipment and follows equipment safe-operation procedures.
Qualifications (Education/Experience) And Required Skills
Proven experience both programming AND operating CNC fabrication equipment (Salvagnini experience strongly preferred; will train the right candidate on Salvagnini-specific software).
Two or more years of experience working in a fabrication shop.
Familiarity with computerized nesting software preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret bend lines and weld symbols.
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision during night and weekend hours.
Demonstrated self-motivation, hustle, and ownership mindset.
Good understanding of safety standards and safe machine operation.
Attention to detail.
