About the Position

Harris Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist to join the night shift team at Ben Taub Hospital. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens to support the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Responsibilities include conducting high-complexity testing, validating and reporting results, maintaining quality control, and ensuring proper maintenance of laboratory equipment. You will also manage inventory of reagents and supplies while participating in continuing education to stay current with best practices.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
    • OR completion of a Medical Technology Training Program
    • OR Associate Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science with ASCP Certification (MT)
  • Certification:
    • Certification by approved agencies (ASCP, NCA, AMT) preferred
  • Communication Skills:
    • Above Average Verbal (heavy public contact)
    • Strong written communication (correspondence and reports)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in PC, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access
  • Knowledge/Skills:
