A .NET Developer Contract job is a temporary or project-based role where a developer specializes in building applications using Microsoft’s .NET framework. Contract developers are typically hired for a specific duration to work on software development, bug fixes, or system enhancements. They may work independently or as part of a team, collaborating with stakeholders to meet project goals. These roles can be on-site, remote, or hybrid and often require expertise in C#, ASP.NET, SQL, and related technologies. Contract positions offer flexibility and competitive pay but may not include traditional employment benefits.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a net developer contract?

To thrive as a .NET Developer Contractor, a strong command of C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and object-oriented programming principles is essential, often backed by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with development tools like Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and certifications such as Microsoft Certified: .NET Developer are highly regarded. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and adaptability enable success when working with diverse teams and managing project requirements. These skills ensure that contractors can deliver robust, maintainable software solutions on time while effectively collaborating with clients and colleagues.

What types of projects and team structures can a .NET developer contractor expect to work with?

.NET Developer Contractors often work on a variety of projects, ranging from web and desktop application development to cloud-based solutions and integrations. Depending on the organization, you might collaborate with cross-functional teams that include project managers, UX/UI designers, QA testers, and other developers, or sometimes work more independently with minimal supervision. Projects can be short-term enhancements or longer-term, full-scale builds, and contractors are often expected to quickly adapt to new environments and existing codebases. This dynamic setup offers exposure to diverse technologies and processes, enabling contractors to expand their skill set and network across different industries.

Job description

The Team

The Innovation & Delivery Transformation team is building the future of our business. This is the group responsible for identifying, nurturing, scaling, and ultimately winning in new markets with new capabilities. We do not rely solely on what the firm has always done - we look to the future and invest where we believe growth will occur three, five, and ten years from now. The Innovation & Delivery Transformation team collaborates with Industries, Offering Portfolios, Growth, and Delivery Transformation to curate and scale our Innovation Portfolio, grow through our Strategic Growth Offerings, identify and incubate the next generation of technology through our Technology Offices, and more. We are also dedicated to fostering a leading talent experience within I&DT and across the firm.

The core focus of this role is the Converge for Life Sciences portfolio, Deloitte's AI-enabled platform portfolio for the modern life sciences enterprise. The Market Access AI platform is Converge for Life Sciences' initiative reimagining how life sciences companies manage payer contracting, formulary compliance, and gross-to-net performance by replacing fragmented manual processes with intelligent workflows built to scale.

Position Summary

As a Product Manager for Market Access AI, you will shape the strategic direction of a next-generation market access platform that is transforming how pharmaceutical and biotech commercial organizations operate. Sitting at the intersection of industry expertise and product vision, you will collaborate with the practice leaders in market access domain to shape where the product goes and why - driving measurable impact for life sciences companies navigating an increasingly complex payer landscape.

Recruiting for this role ends on 10/31/26.

Work you'll do

Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership:

  • Own and evolve the multi-horizon product roadmap for the Market Access AI platform, balancing near-term user needs with long-term market differentiation.
  • Define and prioritize strategic bets across market access capabilities - spanning payer contract lifecycle management, agentic formulary validation, rebate compliance, GTN forecasting, copay program oversight, and script-level profitability analytics.
  • Synthesize market signals, user feedback, competitive intelligence, and emerging AI trends into clear strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Establish and maintain a product vision and narrative that aligns cross-functional teams - engineering, data science, UX, and go-to-market - around a shared north star.

Market & Client Insight:

  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive landscape analysis across the market access technology, managed markets, and life sciences commercial operations space.
  • Build and maintain deep understanding of life science market access workflows - from pre-deal modeling and contract development through post-deal pull-through, rebate adjudication, and formulary monitoring - to ensure the product strategy addresses real, high-value pain points.
  • Engage with current and prospective clients to validate strategic hypotheses and uncover unmet needs.
  • Partner with functional SMEs and product owners to translate domain expertise and user insights into strategic product priorities.

Go-to-Market & Commercial Enablement:

  • Collaborate with Deloitte practice leaders to define the go-to-market strategy for new platform capabilities, including positioning, messaging, and launch sequencing in partnership with marketing and sales leadership.
  • Develop the product's value proposition and competitive differentiation narrative for use in pursuits, RFP responses, and executive briefings.
  • Support high-priority sales cycles by providing strategic framing and credible industry context to differentiate the Market Access AI platform against competing solutions.
  • Identify and evaluate partnership, integration, and ecosystem opportunities - across contract management systems, rebate platforms, formulary data providers, and syndicated payer data - that expand the platform's strategic value and market reach.

The successful candidate would possess these skills:

Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to Product Management, Engineering, UX, and Delivery leaders, ensuring strategic intent is preserved through execution.
  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions, roadmap reviews, and prioritization forums with senior stakeholders across Deloitte and ConvergeHEALTH.
  • Contribute to practice-building efforts, including points of view, whitepapers, and conference presentations, to establish Deloitte as a thought leader in AI-driven market access transformation.
  • Leverage rapid prototyping and AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Lovable, N8N) to bring strategic concepts to life as demonstrable ideas that accelerate alignment and feedback.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in life sciences, health economics, business strategy, computational biology, or related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience working as an employee of a life sciences company (pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical products).
  • 3-5 years of combined experience in Life Science market access environments and product management, management consulting, or technology product roles.
  • Experience in a SaaS or enterprise software product organization in the life sciences, health tech, or pharmaceutical commercial operations space.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate product strategy - including market sizing, competitive positioning, and roadmap rationale - to senior audiences.
  • Deep familiarity with pharmaceutical market access workflows - including pre-deal modeling, deal strategy, contract development, contract execution, post-deal pull-through, and rebate adjudication.
  • Proficiency with the key data assets that power market access decisions, including formulary and PDL data, covered lives, rebate and chargeback transaction data, GTN waterfall components (WAC, rebates, Medicaid best price, 340B, copay), script-level claims (e.g., IQVIA LAAD, Symphony Health), copay voucher data, hub and patient enrollment data, and syndicated benchmarks (e.g., SSR Health, CMS MDRP).
  • Proven track record of synthesizing complex inputs (market data, user research, business context) into clear, actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to travel 20-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in market access operations, including automated contract compliance, formulary validation, and rebate leakage detection in pharmaceutical commercial environments.
  • Familiarity with Agentic AI concepts and applications, including the use of AI agents to automate complex workflows, orchestrate multi-step market access processes, and enable autonomous decision-making in commercial operations.
  • Comfort with modern data and cloud concepts (AWS or equivalent) sufficient to engage credibly with engineering and architecture teams.
