Job description

Engineering Manager – UI Platform
Location: Hybrid (Santa Clara, CA)
Work Authorization: Visa sponsorship is not available.

We're partnering with an innovative technology company seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing UI engineering team building next-generation web applications and customer-facing platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager or a Technical Lead looking to transition into management while remaining deeply involved in architecture and development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, hire, and grow a high-performing UI engineering team
  • Drive technical architecture, engineering strategy, and product direction
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute hands-on to the codebase when needed
  • Partner closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, customer-facing applications
  • Collaborate with backend teams to build modern web applications and API-driven experiences
  • Lead technical design discussions and establish engineering best practices
  • Improve engineering processes, team workflows, and development standards
  • Own projects from architecture through delivery in a distributed engineering environment
  • Communicate effectively across engineering, product, and leadership teams
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience developing modern web applications
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership or management experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Angular, React, or similar frontend frameworks
  • Experience building scalable web applications and leading technical design discussions
  • Experience with Node.js and Express (NestJS is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and web application architecture
  • Knowledge of secure web development best practices
  • Cloud technologies experience (cloud security is a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent required (Master's preferred)
