American Consultants is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Apple Valley, California.

Job Opportunity โ€“ Registered Nurse, NICU โ€“ Apple Valley, CA 92307

Start Date: September 9, 2026

Location: Apple Valley, California

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 18:30), every other weekend (may exceed to meet unit needs). Contract duration of 26 weeks with option to extend.

Highlights:
  • Level III NICU with 14 beds serving approximately 190 births per month
  • Acute care hospital with 212 total staffed beds utilizing Epic charting system
  • Patient ratios staffed by acuity, up to 1:3; no on-call required
  • Free parking and 36-40 hours of paid orientation provided
  • Serve a diverse patient population including large Hispanic community with CCS designation
  • Opportunity to work with complex neonatal conditions including prematurity, NAS, RDS, and sepsis
Requirements:
  • Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 1 year in Level III NICU specialty
  • Current certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced (or NRP with willingness to obtain Advanced before start), PALS
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Experience with central lines, PICC line management, high-frequency ventilation, oscillators, and titration of vasopressors
  • Competency in neonatal care including premature infants (29+ weeks), respiratory support, and developmental care
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All time-off requests must be submitted at time of application
