Job description

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant - Revenue & Billing will support revenue and billing activities, including customer invoicing, accounts receivable, cash application, deferred revenue, approved pricing updates, reconciliations, and month-end reporting.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None


Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Processes and supports customer billing across assigned product lines and entities, including recurring, implementation, hardware, and other invoice activity.

  • Maintains customer setup, billing schedules, payment terms, item and product mapping, contracted rates, and approved pricing changes based on established contract terms and pricing.

  • Prepares sales commission calculations.

  • Prepares revenue-related journal entries and reconciliations, including deferred and accrued revenue where applicable.

  • Supports AR aging, collections, cash application, ACH billing, credits, and resolution of customer account discrepancies.

  • Maintains revenue and billing schedules in accordance with established U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 policies for software, hardware, services, and bundled arrangements.

  • Prepares revenue-by-customer and product reports, monitors recurring billing trends, and investigates missing, duplicate, or inconsistent billing activity.

  • Implements approved CPI, annual pricing, and other rate changes and verifies updates are reflected accurately in Sage Intacct and customer invoices.

  • Prepare variance analysis review, actuals to actuals

  • Reconciles billing and revenue activity between Sage Intacct and source systems and provides supporting schedules for audits, confirmations, and related compliance requests.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills/ Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, revenue accounting, accounts receivable, billing, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Sage Intacct experience is highly preferred; experience with billing, CRM, payment, and other finance/accounting systems is a plus.

  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills, including reconciliation, customer and product analysis, and trend reporting.

  • Experience with ASC 606, deferred revenue, recurring revenue, or SaaS/technology billing is preferred.

  • English + Spanish bilingual proficiency is highly preferred.

  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to identify errors and support practical process improvements.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • At least 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience required; revenue accounting, billing, AR, or recurring-revenue experience preferred


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
