Job Description

We are seeking a results-driven Sales Director to join the NBC & Telemundo Connecticut sales team. This role focuses on leading a high-performing team of local and national sellers to drive revenue across NBCU Local's diverse portfolio of assets. This role will develop and execute sales strategies, cultivate a strong team culture, and partner cross-functionally to maximize revenue opportunities for our clients. Responsibilities include meeting quarterly and annual targets across all platforms including linear television, digital, social, and streaming. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong sales expertise, deep knowledge of the media landscape, and a proven ability to develop talent, grow business, and exceed revenue goals.

Responsibilities 

  • Manage a team of local sellers as well as national offices across NBCUniversal’s local division 
  • Lead a high-performing team selling NBCUniversal’s broadcast, streaming, digital, OTT, and multiplatform advertising solutions.  
  • Drive revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives and new business development across local and national accounts.  
  • Develop and execute on go to market strategies for sponsorships, sports programming, special events, integrated marketing campaigns, and non-traditional revenue opportunities.  
  • Maintain expertise in digital products and execute innovative cross-platform sales strategies for local and national advertisers.  
  • Partner with Research, Marketing, Traffic, Finance, and other teams to develop and monetize strategic sales initiatives.  
  • Oversee inventory management, pricing, forecasting, and revenue optimization across all platforms.  
  • Analyze ratings, audience insights, demographics, and market trends to identify growth opportunities and shape sales strategy for the team.  
  • Develop competitive strategies to capture revenue from radio, print, cable, digital, social, and emerging media platforms.  
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent while building a strong leadership pipeline.  
  • Manage client hospitality and advertiser participation at sports and partner events.  
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and performance. 
Qualifications

Basic Requirements  

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in media sales or other relevant industry  
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 

Desired Characteristics 

  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) 
  • Experience delegating, assigning, setting objectives, providing positive feedback and coaching. 
  • Prior experience managing a sales team 
  • The ability to clearly communicate the sales mission and lead the team. 
  • Knowledge of digital media landscape & experience with multi-platform campaigns. 
  • Demonstrated ability to set goals, create and execute on sales plans. 
  • Skilled in delivering feedback in order to develop team 
  • Ability to quickly understand and size up opportunity and/or problems and respond with creative ideas and solutions. 
  • Strong understanding of pricing and inventory management strategies
