Job description

The Opportunity
The Communications & Publications Game-Night Staff is responsible for assisting the Communications & Publications Staff in implementing the team's media relations efforts on game nights. This position works part-time during the NBA and NBA G League preseason, regular season, and any applicable playoff season located at FedExForum in Memphis, TN, and Landers Center in Southaven, MS.
In This Role You Will
  • Accurately and efficiently distribute credentials to media and guests;
  • Record and transcribe pregame and postgame interviews with players, coaches, and staff;
  • Assist with press conferences in the media work room;
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Experience You Will Bring
  • High School Diploma or GED required; at least one year of college coursework in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of AP Style and ability to apply it in written materials
  • Ability to quickly and accurately transcribe audio files
  • Ability to work most Memphis Grizzlies home games, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and be available prior to media arrival on game days
  • Knowledge of the Memphis Grizzlies and NBA basketball
  • Professional and personable demeanor
  • Strong work ethic with solid organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, game-night environment
  • Ability to receive and apply constructive feedback

Nice to Have:
  • Working toward Bachelor's degree from an accredited college majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Sports Management, or other relevant degree program.
