Job description

Intuit Dome is seeking an experienced and multifaceted Director of Security Operations who is adept at crafting, planning, and implementing event security and safety programs. The Director of Security Operations will be responsible for the overall management of event security operations at Intuit Dome and Kia Forum, while ensuring that the highest level of safety and security standards are met for NBA games, concerts, and special events taking place at Intuit Dome and Kia Forum. The ideal candidate will possess a detailed understanding of sports & entertainment venue safety programs and have five or more years of supervisory or management experience in a building security or event-based workforce.

This is a fullโ€‘time role based in Inglewood, CA and is eligible for our competitive benefit offering including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with company contribution, Wellโ€‘Being Allowance, and more. Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover high profile concerts and NBA games.

What You Will Do
  • Manage Event Security Managers to plan, develop, and implement programs that support strategic objectives while maintaining the highest industry standards for safety and security of all fans, employees, performers, public officials, executive leadership, service partners, and clients.
  • Lead recruitment, training, development, and scheduling of contracted Event Security operations, ensuring a high-performing team and consistent execution of policies that uphold industry standards and protect all stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and maintain ongoing review and updates of Emergency Action Plans, Event Security policies and procedures, and NBA Security Standards, while directing incident management operations during all events at Intuit Dome and Kia Forum.
  • Develop and manage Event Security budget, staffing deployment, and operational logistics for all Event Security staffing partners, including Code Enforcement, Fire, Kโ€‘9, Police, Medical, and contracted security services.
  • Oversee incident response and investigations for all events across Intuit Dome and Kia Forum, including management of all reports within 24/7 Software.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain all 24/7 Software documentation, including incident reports and postโ€‘event summary reports.
  • Serve as an active member of all Intuit Dome and Kia Forum operational meetings to coordinate event readiness, align across departments, validate attendance projections, and communicate relevant information to Event Security partners during briefings and afterโ€‘action reviews.
  • Provide effective communication during emergency response situations; update and maintain facility Emergency Operating Plans with regular reviews, updates, and exercises.
  • Assess, develop, and manage execution of security strategies to protect building perimeters, parking structures, access points, staff work areas, Command Center, and Loading Dock operations during events.
  • Work in conjunction with Event Management to ensure Intuit Dome is prepared for opening of doors.
  • Ensure Intuit Dome is cleared of all guests prior to release of security service partner staff.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local, city, state, and federal government security organizations to ensure effective communication, coordination, compliance, and investigative support related to security incidents during events.
  • Collaborate with Team Security, NBA Security, visiting team security, and touring production security personnel to ensure coordinated security operations for each event.
  • Maintain a work schedule based on Intuit Dome and Kia Forum events and operational needs.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Your Background, Skills, and Qualifications
  • Five years direct industry experience in securityโ€‘related field.
  • Supervisory and management experience with a building security or eventโ€‘based workforce.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of sports & entertainment venue event planning and related activities.
  • Experience with governmental resources, including police and fire departments, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FBI and other local, state and federal resources.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of physical security systems, including 24/7 Software, CCTV, Envoy, fire alarm, Genetec, Liferaft, and Motorola radio communication systems and/or other comparable systems.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in crisis management, investigation skills, security technology, life safety, risk management, payroll, and scheduling are required.
  • Experience with budgeting and creating event staffing estimates.
  • Ability to adapt to change and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and compliance regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field highly preferred, advanced degree preferred.
