Job Summary

Support the creation and maintenance of a safe work environment for team members and guests by assisting management in upholding health and safety standards. Help minimize workers' compensation and general liability costs through proactive safety support and consistent communication with leadership.

Major Areas of Responsibility

All performance standards are achieved using the Core Signatures guidelines.

Operations Support

  • Assist Managers with Health Department and third-party sanitation protocols
  • Support the development and documentation of action plans for inspection violations; ensure timely resolution in coordination with management
  • Support management by assisting with training on claims reporting procedures and helping monitor compliance to ensure submissions are accurate and timely; provide regular updates to the General Manager and Vice President to keep leadership informed and aligned. Help establish safety committees and provide ongoing support
  • Review accident investigations and offer feedback to management
  • Identify potential safety risks during operations and offer guidance to reduce incidents; monitor use of PPE
  • Support management by assisting location with LPCs on QRE standards and Levy Risk Management practices
  • Track ServSafe certification compliance and assist managers in maintaining current documentation
  • Maintain working knowledge of OSHA standards and assist in communicating requirements to location LPCs and managers; support accurate OSHA log completion
  • Help ensure timely and effective delivery of OSHA-required safety lessons and documentation
  • Support compliance with material handling equipment and training protocols
  • Assist with chemical inventory checks and ensure MSDS availability
  • Support the implementation of Emergency Response Plans and team member evacuation training

Controls & Communication

  • Analyze safety data and assist in developing location-specific action plans
  • Promote best practices in safety and sanitation in F&B space
  • Track claims and communicate status to General Manager and Vice President as needed
  • Help ensure team members follow company guidelines as outline in core signatures and training manuals
  • Participate in monthy review meetings with General Manager, Vice President of Hospitality, Risk Management and Sanitation
  • Assist in training and development of team members in Safety and Sanitation per Levy guidelines

Job Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • English reading, writing, math and computer skills required
  • Stamina to work 60 hours or more per week
  • Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates
  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and event days
  • Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to, slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains
  • Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking (including stairs) throughout shift

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, Environmental Science, Hospitaility Management, or a related field
  • Certification in OSHA, NRA ServSafe Manager, HACCP, or equivalent health and safety programs
  • Registered Evironmental Health Specialist (REHS) and/or Registered Sanitation (RS) certification preferred, but not mandatory
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in health and safety within hospitality or large-scale venue operations
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
  • Experience working in a unionized environmental is a plus
