Job description

cFocus Software seeks a Systems Engineer II to join our program supporting the United States Navy (DON). This position is on site in the San Diego, CA area. This position requires a Secret clearance.
Qualifications:
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5+ years of relevant systems engineering, integration, testing, production support, modernization, or technical program support experience.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DoN), acquisition, modernization, or installation programs is desirable.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, engineering lifecycle processes, and configuration management.
  • Experience supporting engineering change management, ECP implementation, and technical baseline control.
  • Understanding of system integration, production support, testing, verification, and validation activities.
  • Ability to analyze technical requirements, specifications, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
  • Knowledge of test planning, test readiness reviews, and test event execution.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical documentation and briefings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, and engineering collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Duties:
  • Develop, update, maintain, and modernize engineering documentation during production-phase activities.
  • Analyze and implement Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Value Engineering Change Proposals (VECPs).
  • Perform engineering analyses of program requirements, technical baselines, production plans, and system specifications.
  • Evaluate system designs and technical solutions for compliance with program requirements and engineering standards.
  • Review engineering drawings, interface documentation, technical specifications, and configuration documentation.
  • Support systems engineering efforts associated with modernization, integration, installation, and production activities.
  • Perform technical assessments of engineering changes and identify impacts to cost, schedule, performance, and risk.
  • Support configuration management activities by maintaining engineering records and tracking approved changes.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, white papers, technical recommendations, and briefing materials.
  • Develop, review, and support test plans, test procedures, and evaluation criteria.
  • Support Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), test readiness briefing development, and test event execution.
  • Analyze test results and provide recommendations for corrective actions, system improvements, and engineering resolutions.
  • Coordinate with Government personnel, engineers, logisticians, installers, and program management staff to resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in technical reviews, engineering working groups, integrated product teams, and design reviews.
  • Identify process improvements that enhance engineering quality, documentation accuracy, and program execution.
  • Generate metrics, dashboards, and reports supporting installation management and modernization decision-making.
  • Provide technical comments, recommendations, and process improvement suggestions related to installation planning and execution.
