Location: Chester County, Pennsylvania
Position Type: Full-Time

MVP Recovery is seeking highly motivated, compassionate, and professional Certified Recovery Specialists (CRS) to join one of the largest and most comprehensive behavioral health and recovery support organizations in the Philadelphia region.

Position Summary
The Chester County Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) will provide recovery support services, case management, mentorship, advocacy, and linkage to care for residents throughout Chester County. This position will work collaboratively with county agencies, courts, treatment providers, recovery houses, and community stakeholders to help individuals navigate treatment, recovery, and long-term wellness through lived experience and peer support.
The CRS will maintain a caseload of up to 30 clients and provide individualized recovery support services focused on increasing recovery capital, addressing social determinants of health, and supporting long-term recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Certified Recovery Specialist services to individuals throughout Chester County
  • Maintain an active caseload of up to 30 clients
  • Develop and monitor Individual Recovery Plans
  • Complete Recovery Capital Scales and ongoing recovery assessments
  • Provide mentorship, encouragement, advocacy, and peer-based recovery support through lived experience
  • Link individuals to treatment services, housing, employment resources, transportation, healthcare, education, and other social determinants of health resources
  • Coordinate care and maintain communication with county systems and treatment providers
  • Work collaboratively with:
    • Chester County Court of Common Pleas
    • Diversionary Courts
    • Drug Court
    • Recovery Court
    • Office of Probation and Parole
    • Children, Youth & Family Services (CYFS)
    • Chester County Department of Human Services
    • Chester County Drug & Alcohol
    • DDAP licensed county-contracted recovery houses
    • Treatment providers and recovery support organizations
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives and educational presentations
  • Attend outreach events that may occasionally occur during evenings and/or weekends
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and communication
  • Represent MVP Recovery professionally and respectfully within the community and county systems
  • Adhere to MVP Recovery policies, procedures, and dress code
  • Work independently with autonomy while remaining connected to the CRS team and leadership
  • Report directly to the Certified Recovery Specialist Coordinator

Qualifications
Required:
  • Current Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) Certification through the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB/PCD)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage documentation and maintain professional correspondence
  • Highly motivated, dependable, and responsible
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Passion for helping individuals and families impacted by substance use and behavioral health challenges
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills

Preferred:
  • Experience working within criminal justice, behavioral health, treatment, or recovery support systems
  • Knowledge of Chester County behavioral health and recovery resources
  • Experience with case management and peer support services

CRS Ethical Standards & Professional Expectations
All Certified Recovery Specialists must follow all Certified Recovery Specialist guidelines, ethics, and professional standards, including:
  • Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • Protecting confidentiality
  • Following all CRS code of ethics requirements
  • Maintaining professionalism in all interactions
  • Demonstrating respectful and ethical conduct
  • Upholding person-centered, recovery-oriented care principles

All CRSs are expected to represent professionally while working collaboratively with county agencies, courts, treatment providers, recovery houses, community stakeholders, and the individuals and families we serve throughout Chester County.
