Editorial& OnlineWriting Specialist

Marine Corps University (MCU) / College of Distance Education and Training (CDET)

Location:Quantico, VA

**This position is contingent upon contract award.**


Position Overview

Hatalom isseekingan Editorial and Writing Specialist to support the College of Distance Education and Training (CDET). This position provides editorial, publishing, and academic writing support for Professional Military Education (PME) programs, ensuring the quality and integrity of courseware, examinations, and instructional materials.The successful candidate will support curriculum development efforts,maintainonline writing resources, provide writingassistanceto faculty and students, and promote academic integrity across multiple educational programs.This position is contingent upon contract award.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Edit and format courseware, examinations, faculty development materials, and online content.
  • Assemble and publish electronic course materials, including e-books and digital learning resources.
  • Coordinate copyright requests andmaintaincopyright documentation records.
  • Conduct plagiarism and artificial intelligence screening of written assignments.
  • Provide writing and composition support to faculty, curriculum developers, and students.
  • Maintain online writing centers and develop writing tools and instructional resources.
  • Teach online writing and essay development courses.
  • Support curriculum developers and subject matter experts in the effective use of artificial intelligence tools.
  • Assistwith curriculum reviews, reporting, and academic support initiatives.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Education, Technical Writing, or related field.
  • Experience in editing, publishing, technical writing, curriculum support, or academic writing.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting higher education, military education, or curriculum development programs.
  • Experience teaching writing, composition, or academic skills courses.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Moodle.
  • Knowledge of copyright compliance, academic integrity, and plagiarism detection tools.
  • Experienceutilizingartificial intelligence tools for content development and editing.


Security Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenshiprequired.
  • Active Secret clearance (Tier 3 Investigation)required.
