In the United States, naturalization typically involves meeting residency requirements, demonstrating English proficiency, passing a civics test, and taking an oath of allegiance. Naturalized citizens have the same rights and responsibilities as native-born citizens, including the ability to vote and obtain a U.S. passport. The process is managed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
