The Sr Originator III, Natural Gas is responsible for supporting the implementation of new business activities, identifying, structuring, and closing long-term contracts, and supporting business development activities throughout the region. This position requires a detailed understanding of the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments including but not limited to transportation, storage, and end user alternatives. This role will interact externally with counterparties and prioritizes areas of new business and opportunity generation for our incumbency position. This role will create value and contribute to profitability of Americas Natural Gas Trading and Phillips 66.

What You'll Do

  • Develop new customer contracts and relationships portfolio
  • Work internally and externally to expand infrastructure, opportunities and markets
  • Recognize opportunities to further optimize the intrinsic values associated with the Phillips 66 asset backed trading model, while also developing extrinsic optionality around a system or owned and leased infrastructure.
  • Identify new opportunities to grow the gas business and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with trading and functional teams to work transactions through the front to back process, while providing excellent client focused service and information flow.
  • Perform economic and strategic evaluations for new business opportunities
  • Work with third party consultants and brokers to understand and evaluate their views on North American gas markets and factor those into business development strategies
  • Ensure proper set-up and compliance of new counterparties and deals

What You'll Bring - Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 10 or more years of specific commercial activities (scheduling, contract writing, negotiations, trading, business development, or project management)
  • 5 or more years of experience in natgas, G&P or LNG markets
  • Experience in risk and/or supply chain activities
  • Willing and able to travel on an as needed basis (up to 25-50%)

  • 10 or more years of experience in natgas, G&P or LNG markets
  • Experience working with Midcontinent and Gulf Coast natural gas logistics assets, producers, and associated gas basins

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $198,000 - $242,000. This role is eligible to participate in the company's commercial bonus program, offering the opportunity to earn additional compensation based on business and individual performance, in accordance with program guidelines.

The Commercial organization  works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration.   Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations.  Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
