JOB SUMMARY

The Product Manager has responsibilities for all aspects of the product line measured by total product line profitability. Responsible for setting guidelines for product pricing, inventory management, and define the overall product line strategy. The Product Manager will work creatively and pragmatically to gather and prioritize new product opportunities, analyze customer requirements, research and define target industries, and execute strategies for successful market penetration. The Product Manager will work closely with our Manufacturing Team, Engineering, Sales, Quality Assurance, and Marketing. This positions requires travel up to 40% of the time. When not traveling working on site is preferred.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a comprehensive technical knowledge of product line
  • Be an expert with respect to competition. Understand the market with a focus on industries that fit well within PEER’s long-term strategy
  • Promote the PEER brand to Sales Team to keep them motivated and driven to sell the product
  • Be the leader in development and evaluation of industry products that will lead to growth and profitability of the product line
  • Define/understand all market requirements deeded to position PEER’s product line as “Best in Class”
  • Support engineering and manufacturing in setting specifications and tolerances for standard products
  • Team up with Engineering to take an active role in product training for font line colleagues
  • Collaborate with Inventory Control and Production to efficiently meet changing industry requirements
  • Work closely and be the bridge between the Manufacturing Plants and Sales Organizations
  • Promote the product line by working closely with marketing team to develop sales tools and marketing literature
  • Collaboration with Sales, Engineering, QA, Manufacturing; Act as the bridge between departments to ensure customer demands and expectations are consistently met
  • Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Formal mechanical engineering background
  • Proven experience within the chain industry
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Product Management, Application Sales/Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Experience with Metal, Machining, and Manufacturing Processes
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate success in leading teams along with motivating and developing people
  • Technical background
  • Proficient at math and analyzing data
  • Ability to interact with multi-national people
  • Skills to confidently speak with customers when needed
  • Strong presentation skills
