Job description

The National Sales Assistant provides high-level administrative and sales support to the Director of Sales/National Sales Manager, and the station's local sales team. This position is responsible for coordinating national business, maintaining accurate sales orders and records, communicating with agencies and clients, managing commercials on broadcast logs daily, monitoring schedules and discrepancies, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Director of Sales/National Sales Lead, Nexstar Sales Organization team and traffic team.

  • Enter, maintain, and manage national television, digital, and other media orders accurately and in a timely manner. Manage commercial placement on daily broadcast logs in the Wide Orbit traffic system.

  • Coordinate with NSO representatives, agencies, clients, traffic, programming, and sales management.

  • Monitor national orders for accuracy, including rates, dates, units, copy instructions, rotations, makegoods, and cancellations.

  • Assist with resolving discrepancies between orders, schedules, invoices, and agency instructions.

  • Flexibility to be on call after hours for extenuating circumstances. (Sports, WX etc)

  • Monitor national revenue and assist management with tracking monthly and quarterly goals.

  • Communicate schedule changes and inventory issues promptly to the appropriate sales and traffic personnel.

  • Assist with political, sports, sports shows, WFRV special-events, (Parades-Fireworks) and other high-volume sales periods as needed.

  • Support digital and streaming sales activity, including order entry, campaign coordination, and reporting as needed.

  • Assist with special projects and other responsibilities assigned by Director of Sales.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in broadcast, media sales, advertising, traffic, sales support, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong customer-service mindset and professional demeanor.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.

  • Ability to learn and effectively use broadcast sales, traffic, CRM, and digital systems.

  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow issues through to resolution.
