IT/ Technology Support Coordinator

We strive to offer students adequate hands-on training, job-seeking skills, and placement services to prepare them for chosen career opportunities.

About the role

The IT / Technology Support Coordinator analyzes, troubleshoots, and evaluates technology issues. This role may support existing employees, helping to keep employees productive, or student laptop set up, helping them via the telephone, in person, or web chat. This role also includes assisting the Director of Operations with campus-wide technical issues.

Responsibilities


  • Set up all laptops and PCs for new hires and new student technical orientations.

  • Troubleshoot any laptop or computer issues as they arise for students and staff.

  • Helping to maintain and process online educational databases and materials for faculty and students.

  • Monitoring technical features of medical lab equipment.

  • Train and assist with Blackboard, an online Learning Management System.

  • Attend all workshops or seminars on the job description to learn new techniques or meet standard guidelines.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required by directors.

  • Responsible for the installation of software and hardware for employees, train new staff and existing staff

  • Work with partner sites to ensure IT systems are connected and working appropriately.

Location & commitments


  • Located on campus Lakewood, CA

  • Permanent - Full-time

  • 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday

Candidate requirements


  • Proficiency in Windows Operating System, Windows Server Networking, and MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel preferred;

  • Knowledge of education learning management systems

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data entry;

  • Detailed-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment;

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;

  • Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects on time;

  • Problem-solving skills - IT specialists troubleshoot networks, computers, and devices, so they're excellent creative and technical problem-solvers

  • Communication skills - practical written and verbal communication skills are vital in this role since IT specialists work directly with users and IT department personnel

  • Time management - IT specialist quickly moves between duties and responsibilities to effectively prioritize and manage their schedules
