The Opportunity

National Grid is hiring a Senior Energy Advisor Specialist in the NY Customer Sale and Solution team.  This hybrid role can be based in either Albany, Syracuse, Brooklyn or Hicksville NY.

The Role

The Senior Energy Advisor Specialist will engage with national accounts and trade allies across New York to drive energy efficiency and related initiatives that support National Grid's energy savings and revenue targets.

What You'll Do
  • Develop short- and long-term outreach, partner collaboration plans and sales opportunities to effectively execute the delivery strategy and support the achievement of program goals
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including current and prospective trade allies, contractors and customers to explain and promote National Grid energy programs and services
  • Work effectively within a deal team (National Grid Tech Sales, vendors, Account Manager, Corporate Affairs and other business units) to assist National Grid in the achievement of sales goals and other initiatives
  • Utilize sales tracking systems to record customer communications, application enters, project stages, savings and other data
  • Research primary data sources and analyses trends to support defining the approach and performance targets for the market
  • Operate both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment, coordinating project implementation, managing documentation in systems of record, and supporting data analysis and performance reporting
  • Proactively seek ways to improve programs by soliciting customer and stakeholder feedback, researching/implementing best practices, exploring ways to streamline processes, and developing communication materials
  • Travel 30% to 50% of the time to customer locations
About You
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, account development or client outreach role required
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred with a focus on engineering, business, marketing, communications, or other related discipline
  • 1+ year of experience in an energy, utility and/or efficiency firm required
  • Experience in using Salesforce preferred
  • Strong collaboration, consultation and negotiation skills required
  • Proven experience developing and implementing outreach strategies required
  • As a self-starter, demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and tailor approaches to a wide variety of audiences and customers
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to apply consultation procedures and negotiation skills using visual aids, data, or information to support line of reasoning
  • Valid driver's license required

$109,000 - $128,000 a year in Downstate NY

$91,000 - $106,000 a year in Upstate NY
