Job description

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for a job in Tampa, Florida.

The Milk Lab Technician is responsible for the highly specialized tasks of preparation, inventory, 
distribution, and management of Human Milk (HM), Donor Human Milk (DHM), and the facility prepared formulas for all neonatal and pediatric patients within Tampa General Hospital. The Milk Lab Technician is also responsible for the inventory, distribution, and management of ready-to-feed enteral formulas to pediatrics patients. This role will demonstrate competencies relative to infection control principles, appropriate technical calculation (weights and measures conversions, including metrics), knowledge of common medical abbreviations and terminologies, and knowledge of available formula products and human milk additives. The Milk Lab Technician will also effectively communicate with members of the health care team as an imperative. Performs other duties as required. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital. 

Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Associate's Degree Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or relevant field
  •  Bachelor's Degree Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or relevant field
     

License/Registration
Registered Pharmacy Technician
Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR) 
Infant Feeding Technician Certificate must be obtained within 6 months of hire if a 
Pharmacist Technician
