Job description

North American Mechanical, Inc. (NAMI) is seeking a Purchasing Agent to work under the direction of the Purchasing/Distribution Manager to process & expedite purchase orders as well as perform other clerical duties in support of the purchasing function.

Responsibilities include:

  • Daily ordering of materials and equipment for Projects and Inventory in the time frame required, and issue purchase orders as needed.
  • Track back-orders of materials.
  • Maintain vendor relationships
  • Optimize total costs, including freight and purchase price
  • Actively communicate & collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Resolve discrepancies associated with responsible supplier transactions in a timely manner
  • Other projects & clerical type duties as assigned

The right candidate must have:

  • Good Customer Service and Relationship Skills
  • Self-motivated to be able to work on own and good problem solving skills
  • Computer Skills and Fluent in Outlook, MS Excel and Word
  • Bachelor degree in business, accounting, or related field a plus
  • 3 - 5 years of Purchasing experience a plus
  • Plumbing and HVAC product knowledge a plus
