Job Description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implement the IB-PYP Early Years Curriculum within the Reggio Emilia philosophy
  • Teach Preschool children ages 2-5 content encompassing a balance of elements. including: music (vocal and instrumental music), movement; dramatic and symbolic play; expressive arts and crafts; social-emotional and self-help skills; language and communication skills; listening, following directions and concentration; pre-literacy, pre-math, and pre-science concepts; and gross and fine motor coordination
  • This will be in Italian and English
  • Develop age appropriate curriculum that changes as class interests evolve, including appropriate daily curriculum and long-term projects
  • Set educational and developmental goals for children, both as a group and individually
  • Ongoing assessment and documentation of the group dynamic, as well as individual developmental progress toward group and individual goals
  • Communicate with faculty and teachers regarding student development/issues, curriculum and other important information
  • This includes parent conferences, and participation in school events

Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Educational Sciences or a closely related field (or foreign equivalency)
  • 24 months of experience teaching early childhood education
  • Proficiency in Italian Language
  • Able to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
  • Requires DOJ Livescan clearance

Additional Information
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Prior to beginning work and as a condition of employment in order to comply with the law, all employees must provide documentation to prove eligibility to work in the United States. In addition, the final candidate will need to pass Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance, a physical exam, and provide a recent copy of a negative TB test/assessment and other immunization records.
