What is a NACE job?

A NACE job typically refers to a role related to the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), now known as AMPP (Association for Materials Protection and Performance). These jobs focus on corrosion prevention, coatings inspection, and materials integrity in industries like oil and gas, construction, and infrastructure. NACE-certified professionals work to ensure structures and equipment remain safe and durable by applying industry standards and best practices.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Nace position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a NACE Coating Inspector, you need a solid understanding of surface preparation, coating application, and corrosion control principles, typically supported by NACE certification (such as NACE CIP Level 1, 2, or 3). You must be proficient in using inspection tools like dry film thickness gauges, holiday detectors, and possess experience with digital reporting systems. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential soft skills. These competencies ensure the quality and integrity of protective coatings on industrial structures, reduce risk of corrosion, and maintain compliance with safety regulations.

What career advancement opportunities are available for NACE Coating Inspectors?

NACE Coating Inspectors who gain experience and pursue advanced certifications—such as NACE CIP Level 2 or 3—can move into senior inspection, quality control, or project management roles. Many professionals also branch into specialized areas like failure analysis, materials engineering, or consulting for large infrastructure projects. Career growth may also involve supervisory positions, training new inspectors, or working as independent contractors. Demonstrating expertise, leadership, and a commitment to ongoing professional development can open doors to higher-level positions within the protective coatings and corrosion control industry.

Job description

The Mission
At Nace AI, we are building the cognitive infrastructure for the modern professional. Our platform empowers professional knowledge workers like auditors and accountants to get 1000 hours of productivity back.
Backed by General Catalyst and Intel, we have the capital, the pedigree, and the technical edge to define the future of work. We've found our early "true believers," and now we are looking for a Performance Marketing Team Lead to scale our reach to millions of professionals globally.
The Role
As our first dedicated Performance Lead, you will bridge the gap between high-level growth strategy and tactical execution. You'll be responsible for building a world-class acquisition engine that targets high-value professionals, ensuring Nace AI becomes the default tool in their workflow.
What You'll Do:
  • Scale Multi-Channel Growth: Own the strategy and execution across Search, Paid Social (LinkedIn/Meta), and high-intent platforms like Twitter/X and newsletter sponsorships.
  • Build the "Nace" Brand Engine: Lead a small team of growth marketers and creative specialists to produce ads that don't look like ads, but like essential tools for knowledge workers.
  • Rigorous Optimization: Manage substantial budgets with a relentless focus on unit economics-optimizing for LTV:CAC and payback periods.
  • Data Architecture: Partner with Engineering to ensure perfect attribution, building a data-forward culture where every creative experiment is measured and learned from.
  • In-Person Collaboration: Work side-by-side with our founders and product teams in our Palo Alto office to tighten the feedback loop between user acquisition and product development.

Who You Are
The Operator: 6+ years in Performance Marketing, with a proven track record of scaling B2B or "Prosumer" SaaS products from $0 to $10M+ ARR.
The Leader: You have experience managing high-performing teams or agencies and know how to get the best work out of creative and technical talent.
Analytical Rigor: You are dangerous with SQL and data visualization tools; you don't wait for reports, you build them.
AI-Native: You understand the AI landscape and are already using LLMs to optimize copy, analyze sentiment, or automate workflows.
Palo Alto Based: You value the "war room" energy of a physical office and are committed to being on-site with the team.
Why Nace AI?
Pedigree: Work with a team from top-tier institutions and companies, backed by the best VCs in the world.
Impact: You are joining early enough to shape the culture and the growth roadmap of a company aiming to be the "OS" for professional knowledge.
Competitive Package: Silicon Valley-standard salary, significant equity, and premium benefits.
