About the Hiring Group

RTI's Global  Logistics Department provides staff a variety of logistical solutions to the ever changing needs of its projects, clients and customers.

The goal of the Logistics Department is to to ensure that all shipments/services are handled with professionalism, excellent customer service and are cost effective.

What You'll Do

The Global Logistics Department seeks a Material Distribution Coordinator.  They will be responsible for the receiving and processing of mail and provide campus/off-campus pick-ups and deliveries of mail and packages on a daily basis

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for picking-up the incoming mail from the U.S. Postal Service on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for the daily processing of all incoming packages and mail into RTI International.
  • Resolve any undeliverable package and mail issues by researching the staff directory for the correct addressee.
  • Distribution of mail and packages by delivery route around the institute on a daily basis
  • Process, sort and stamp all outgoing mail using the postage mailing machine
  • Pick-up outgoing mail and packages around the institute on a daily basis
  • Provide customer service to the RTI staff by answering inquiries via phone or email
  • Cross train in all receiving operations and assist the team as needed, such as receiving packages and pallets, processing inbound shipments and sorting per delivery route
  • Research mystery packages and contact shipper or other parties at RTI to resolve them and deliver them to the appropriate recipient.
  • Order FedEx, UPS and USPS supplies as needed
  • Maintain the receiving area clean and in proper order
  • Other tasks assigned by management

 

What You'll Need

Minimum Required Education & Experience:

High School diploma and 1year of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Abilities:

Below are skills and abilities required to perform the essential duties of this job.  An addendum that clarifies additional skills and abilities for incumbents in this job may be used in addition to this description.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles
  • Must be able to communicate with varying levels of employees at RTI
  • Must be able to become familiar with SOP's and how they relate to the company
  • Must have working knowledge of Word and Excel software programs
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. alone or with assistance

Physical/Mental Demands:

Physical and mental demands of this role include those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, as outlined above.  Examples include:  remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time; operating a computer and other office machinery; thinking, learning, and concentrating effectively and frequently communicating with other people, both within RTI and outside of RTI; frequently moving about inside and travel between offices and laboratories; frequently conducting laboratory site inspections , ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines, ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require, consistent demonstration of mental stability and ability to have regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
