The towns share a border with Farmington, Avon, Bristol to the South/West and Litchfield and Torrington to the North. Position: Grade-Level Teacher 

Location: Harwinton Consolidated School 

Reports to: Building Principal

Starting Date: Commencement of the 2026-2027 school year

Harwinton Consolidated School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our dynamic team of educators. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a stimulating and nurturing learning environment that promotes the intellectual and social-emotional development of elementary school students.  Our school- and grade-level collaborations are consistent so partnerships with colleagues around teaching, learning and healthy classroom cultures are a large component of how we work together. Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in a combination of the following areas: 

  • Expertise in the five pillars of literacy and mathematical best practices that are student centered
  • A skillful approach to utilizing data to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Exceptional communication skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators and integrate interdisciplinary approaches; PLC contributor
  • The skills needed to foster a positive and productive classroom environment by focusing on building strong relationships, promoting social and emotional skills, and creating a safe space where students feel valued and can learn effectively
  • A commitment to providing constructive feedback to students to encourage growth and development
  • Experience with Bridges 3, DIBELS, Science of Reading, IXL, STAR, Mystery Science, UFLI, Second Step preferred

Required Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited College or University
  • CT Endorsement 013 and 305
