Coordinates activities and initiatives related to the procurement and distribution of materials, equipment, supplies, and outsourcing for the organization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment by performing the following duties.
What Does My Workday Look Like in This Role:
- Maintains procurement records and performs data entry into ERP/spreadsheets on items or services purchased, cost, delivery, quality, inventories, performance, etc.
- Reviews new and existing order requisitions, obtains information and may negotiate on items such as price, availability, and delivery schedule from various Suppliers for product or services.
- Compiles detailed assessment of items to select Suppliers and places approved purchase orders as required.
- Manages the progress and delivery dates on raw materials/goods, services and communicates with internal and external parties. Addresses any issues and coordinates expediated delivery terms as needed.
- Creates new products in PRMS (AS400 based System).
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Provides input and solutions to improve outsourcing strategy.
- Other duties/projects assigned as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years' related experience, or at least 5+ years' related experience.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, customer service, problem-solving and math abilities.
- Organized and able to communicate information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to be a team player and willingness to step in and take on new responsibilities as needed.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel.
