Traffic Specialist
Job Description
The Traffic Specialist is responsible for directing and coordinating traffic activities for Thomson Reuters, ensuring efficient and economical transportation of finished goods to customers, warehouses, and storage facilities.
Key Responsibilities
In this opportunity as a Traffic Specialist, you will be responsible for:
  • Collaborating with transportation consultants to continuously enhance Thomson Reuters' transportation methods and procedures.
  • Determining the most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation for various shipment types, providing clarification as needed.
  • Staying informed about changes in the transportation industry, including updates from USPS, UPS, FedEx, and the freight industry.
  • Scheduling shipments and notifying relevant departments or customers of arrival dates, as necessary.
  • Investigating causes of damage, shortages, or overcharges in consignments or freight.
  • Supporting investigations into late deliveries and identifying overcharges associated with service failures.
  • Coordinating contract, ITP, and Creative Services bulk shipments, serving as the primary Distribution point of contact.
  • Conducting studies on packaging, warehousing, and loading commodities to evaluate existing procedures and standards.
  • Supporting changes to improve control and efficiency in Thomson Reuters traffic management.
  • Gathering data to assist in preparing the department budget.
  • Representing Thomson Reuters in organizations such as the Postal Customer Council (PCC).
  • Providing training on tracking availability to departments as requested.

Required Qualifications
You're a fit for the role of a Traffic Specialist if you have the following required qualifications:
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Keyboarding skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of Thomson Reuters' current systems, such as Product System, Order Processing, Lawyer's Product, Warehouse, and Transportation systems (preferred)

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $43,400 USD - $80,600 USD.Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
