Description The Ohio Turnpike & Infrastructure Commission is seeking experienced MW Class II Roadway employees to work in our Maintenance Department at the Amherst Maintenance Building in Amherst, OH. Examples of Duties Must have knowledge and experience in the following areas: Install and repair asphalt and concrete Joint and crack sealing Install and repair guardrail and various types of fence Drainage and ditch maintenance Roadside clean-up and mowing Cutting and chipping various size trees and brush Traffic control and working in high-speed traffic conditions Snow and Ice removal Operation and transportation of heavy equipment - backhoe, excavator, dozers, rollers, skid steer, post pounder, concrete saws, brush chippers, flail mowers etc. Operation of large trucks - single and double axel trucks, tractor trailers Operation of small tools - jackhammers, hammer drills, chain saws, weed eaters, lawn mower etc. Hours of work / unusual working conditions and other requirements: Must possess a Class "A" CDL with no restrictions and a tanker endorsement Lift and carry 40 pounds frequently and 80 pounds occasionally Ability to work long hours if needed, various work shifts, including summer night work, possibly in extreme weather conditions Required to be on call outside of regularly scheduled working hours Respond to emergencies and accident scenes Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, work in confined spaces and elevated or high work areas Exposure to fumes, dust, dirt, unpleasant odors, loud noise, vibration, hazardous materials, surface spills, human blood, bodily fluids, animal carcasses Typical Qualifications Application Process: Only those deemed qualified will be contacted.
