Job Description

We’re looking for bright, energetic individuals to join our Distribution Team as a Furniture Repair Technician. Advance your career with the most established Furniture Retailer in the industry. Your onsite, hands-on training begins on your first day, where you’ll learn our standards for handling and repairing quality Home Goods. You’ll thrive in our team environment where our focus is always superior Customer Service, Integrity, Quality, and Teamwork.  

Please be aware that this role is based in a warehouse environment and involves repairing furniture, including assessing damage, performing repairs, and restoring products to company quality standards.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on experience. 

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am to completion. 

This is your Opportunity to: 

  • Repair and touch up quick-fix damage caused in the warehouse, during delivery, or by vendors that need to be loaded and sent out the same day.  
  • Use methods and materials such as Burn-in Soft Fill, Bondo, dry powders for color, aerosol lacquers, shading lacquers, buffing fine scratches from dressers, nightstands, and tabletops, and gluing and clamping components. 
  • Perform repairs in a fast-paced environment requiring quick evaluation of damage and immediate assessment of repairs needed. 
  • Primarily work on the prep line for repairs, however, may be expected to work in the shop to assist with detailed repairs. 
  • Enter accurate records in MDC of all repairs, specifying if the damage was created in-house or by the vendor. 
  • Maintain and perform at the necessary productivity level daily. 
  • Maintain a clean and clear work environment, free from trip hazards. 

Earning Opportunity: 

  • $21.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on experience.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: Please be aware that this role is based in a warehouse environment and involves repairing furniture, including assessing damage, performing repairs, and restoring products to company quality standards.

  • Previous furniture repair or refinishing experience preferred. 
  • Must be able to match colors and be familiar with using Mohawk or similar touch up products. 
  • Requires heavy lifting. 
  • Furniture repair or refinishing experience preferred. 
  • Ability to touch up, repair, and upholster furniture. 
  • Excellent communication skills required. 

Work Environment: 

  • Warehouse setting: must wear proper Havertys-provided uniforms, steel-toed work boots/shoes required, safety gear when applicable. 
  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to completion. 

Physical Demands: 

  • Must successfully complete a physical assessment to be considered for the position. 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move furniture up to 100 pounds, perform repetitive tasks involving lifting, bending, and carrying, use hand tools and power tools for repairs, maintain stamina and physical endurance throughout the shift to match colors, and perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.
