Job description

Job Title: Catholic Musician
Schedule: Every Sunday at 12.15 pm. 
Place of Performance: Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Chapel, Virginia Beach, VA 23459.
Ladgov Corporation is hiring a Catholic musician to support services for religious programs at the Joint Base Little Creek Chapel.  
TASKS: The Musician shall provide music to support the missions and responsibilities of the  Command Religious Program for the Joint Base Little Creek Chapel on an annual basis as follows:
  • Perform one (1) Roman Catholic Mass service per week for a total of fifty-two (52) services.  Roman Catholic Mass service begins at 12:15 pm on Sundays and lasts approximately one hour.
  • Perform eight (8) special event services (i.e. Ash Wednesday, Christmas Eve mass, Holy  Week Services, etc.). The schedule is to be determined.
  • Perform Monthly choir rehearsals for the Catholic Mass for a total of twelve (12) regular rehearsals. The rehearsal shall include rehearsal time for special musical selections. Rehearsal shall last approximately 1 hour. Rehearsal days and times are to be determined.
  • Plan and provide music up to a maximum of two (2) services for funerals, memorial services, and special events, in coordination with the Installation Chaplain (not to exceed 2 services).
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • The Musician shall have a clear understanding of the Navy organization and the pluralistic ministry requirements that affect the use of chapel facilities and staff.
  • The Musician shall possess at least one (1) year of experience with Roman Catholic ministries, conducted in a military setting, and demonstrated skills in the variety of sacred musical genres appropriate per faith tradition.
