Do you love sales? Do you love music? Do you want to work for Southern California's Premier School Music Dealer? If you answered YES to any of those questions, then this might be the job for you! We are looking to add an enthusiastic sales person to our team of musicians at Nick Rail Music, Redlands! 


RESPONSIBILITIES


This position is for Educational Sales Representative. This positions primary responsibility is to generate outside sales for Nick Rail Music, typically at school sites. The primary areas in which the representative is expected to generate sales are:


-Generating new rental business

-Sales of merchandise to students and to schools

-Sales of instrument repairs to students and to schools


Nick Rail Music considers itself to be "a responsible partner in music education". As a representative and ambassador of the company, the educational sales rep is expected to conduct him or her self in a manner that encourages music educators to consider the relationship with Nick Rail Music to be an invaluable asset.


Salesmanship, attention to detail, good organizational skills, familiarity with computers, a record of being prompt and service-minded, ability to follow up and an excellent driving record are all prerequisites for this position.


WORK SCHEDULE: The typical schedule for this position is Mon-Fri 8AM-4:30PM. The exact schedule will be coordinated with management depending on route and specific account considerations, which can result in an earlier start to the day. Evenings and Saturdays are required on occasion.


REPORTS TO: School Services Department Manager


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong sales skills
  • Product knowledge and ability to source product knowledge
  • Thorough tracking of orders from inception through delivery
  • Ability to perform small emergency repairs on the road and to evaluate instruments for repair needs
  • Promotion of the repair department, including pick up and delivery of repairs
  • Maintain a daily activity schedule subject to periodic review
  • Create and maintain a data sheet on each account
  • Self-motivation, ability to perform with little direct supervision
  • Maintain frequent communication with supervisor
  • Solve problems promptly, but with good judgment
  • Position requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs in and out of delivery van

Compensation is $17-22/hour depending on experience. Educational Sales Representatives are also eligible for our bonus plan and commission.

  • School band background
  • Proven sales history
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships effectively
  • Strong, positive attitude and work ethic
  • Good driving record
  • Willingness to learn
