Work Schedule: Second Shirt Hours: T, Th, F, 5pm-10pm. Saturdays as needed

Job Description:
SUMMARY
This is a student focused role that supports lab classes,individual student needs, capstone classes and provides supervision over theopen lab.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
  • Oversee Recording Arts Technology (RAT) open lab.
  • Assist recording lab classes.
  • Tutor RAT, Music and film students on production software.
  • Assist the Studio Tech Manager with software installation, computer configuration and equipment installations.
  • Monitor studios during evening capstone sessions.
  • Oversee equipment checkout on evenings and weekends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Associate degree in Recording or Music Technology
    • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of five years of experience with MIDI technology and digital audio recording

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • Possess knowledge of Recording and Music Technology concepts
  • Knowledge of basic music theory
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Mac OS, digital audio workstations, and music production software
  • Possess experience with installation of studio hardware, Pro Tools HDX systems, and troubleshooting
  • General knowledge of the RAT program sequence
  • Ability to work independently
  • Possess working knowledge of administrative support concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations
  • Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively

  • Pro Tools Operator certificate
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud and other video editing software

  • The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
  • The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
  • Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
  • Work will require the ability to lift and carry weights in excess of 60 pounds or greater.
  • Work may require light travel and certain duties performed off site

This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining UnitPosition, Grade 09, with a Minimum Hiring Rate of: $20.00/ hour.
Special Note: If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
