Job description

Company Description

SeatSwap is a"first of its kind" platform dreamed up by a couple of rabid live event fanatics to help fans like ourselves get to more of the events they love by swapping their tickets with other fans instead of scouring the "wild, wild, west" of the interwebs to find someone who is willing to take them off of their hands. It's our humble beginnings (having originally started from a coffee table in an NYU dorm room) and our passion for live events and building things for our fellow crazy, irrational, "stand outside for three hours in the driving snow" fans that sets us apart from other companies. People can say what they want about us but one thing they can't say is that we are disingenuous because we truly believe that we are taking up the proverbial mantel for the unwashed masses who understand the most important part about buying event tickets in the first place is "being there."

Job Description

The web's premier destination for event ticket trading, SeatSwap is looking for a small team of events interns based in the Tri-State Area preferably in and around New York City and New Jersey to help create awareness and promote the SeatSwap brand as we gear up for our Beta launch. The live event season is in full swing and as such we are looking for interns with a knowledge of and passion for them whether it's sports, music, theatre or anything in between.

As a company founded by a couple of crazy fans, we are committed to getting our fellow fans to the events they love even when life invariably and inevitably gets in the way. As such, we're looking for people who, at their core, are passionate, dyed in the wool, beat the drum fans who can bring that same attitude to this position and are able to appeal to fans of all creeds, cultures, and allegiances. At the end of the day, we believe there's a reason people buy tickets in the first place: because it's about having an experience and making a memory that will last a lifetime but most importantly: it's about being there.

This summer we're hoping to have a presence in and around some of the biggest and best events the Tri-State area has to offer and we are looking for people who share our passion for being there to help get the word out and grow awareness of our brand and our mission.

Now here is where we separate the "band-wagoners" from the "die-hards":

One of the biggest parts of this internship is the ability to be unabashed, unapologetic, and genuine in order to connect to our fellow fans on a personal and emotional level. Around here we subscribe to a "don't tell me what you can do, show me what you've done philosophy" but right now we're challenging you to show us what you can do and the best way to do that is just to lay it all out there. Specifically, we want you to send along a video submission (length and platform of your choosing), telling us who you are, why you fit the mold of the passionate/"die-hard" fan we are looking for, why you want to be a part of SeatSwap, why other fans would be willing to listen to you, (if not how you are going to get them to listen to you), and most importantly what "being there" means to you.

Nothing is off limits, we encourage you to be creative, passionate, and ridiculous - to speak from the heart and lay it all out there. Now the ball is in your court, if you choose to accept the challenge please send along a link via YouTube or Vimeo within as soon as you feel you have something that adequately answers the "call to arms" to info at seatswaptickets.com.

Best of Luck.
