The main difference between a Music Analyst Remote and a Music Data Coordinator lies in their focus. Music Analysts primarily interpret data to provide insights into music trends and consumer behavior, often working independently. Music Data Coordinators handle the organization and management of music-related data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Both roles require a music-related background and often operate remotely within the music industry, but their core responsibilities differ in analysis versus data management.

How does a remote Music Analyst typically collaborate with other teams or departments?

As a remote Music Analyst, you will frequently collaborate with teams such as data science, marketing, and content curation through virtual meetings and shared digital platforms. Communication tools like Slack, Zoom, and project management software are commonly used to coordinate tasks, share insights, and provide feedback on music trends or metadata analysis. Building strong relationships with cross-functional teams is essential, as your analytical findings often guide playlist curation, marketing strategies, and user experience improvements. Regular check-ins and clear documentation help maintain alignment and ensure everyone is working towards shared objectives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Music Analyst (Remote), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Music Analyst (Remote), you generally need a strong background in music theory, data analysis, and familiarity with music industry trends, often supported by a degree in music, statistics, or a related field. Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel, SQL, Python, and music metadata platforms such as MusicBrainz or Spotify for Artists is typically required. Excellent attention to detail, strong communication, and a passion for music help you interpret data meaningfully and collaborate effectively across teams. These skills are crucial for accurately analyzing music trends, informing business decisions, and ensuring high-quality insights in a fast-evolving digital music landscape.

What does a Music Analyst do when working remotely?

A remote Music Analyst evaluates and interprets music data to identify trends, categorize songs, and provide insights for streaming platforms, record labels, or media companies. Their tasks often include analyzing listening patterns, tagging and classifying music genres, and recommending tracks for playlists or marketing. Working remotely, they use specialized software and databases to access music libraries and analyze data, collaborating with teams via digital communication tools. This role requires a strong knowledge of music, analytical skills, and familiarity with music metadata and industry trends.

JOB TITLE: Senior Product Manager, Kits
LOCATION: US REMOTE
THE ROLE:
We're looking for a senior, highly autonomous Product Manager to help grow and develop the Kits AI product line and business. Kits is Splice's AI vocal creation product: a tool that lets producers generate, transform, and create studio quality vocals with ease.
This is a rare opportunity: real ownership of growth and performance for a growing product, paired with the freedom to shape and launch entirely new product experiences alongside it. You'll identify high-impact opportunities, productize new ML capabilities into creator-facing workflows, and drive impact from day one.
You'll operate across both growth and product development (funnel optimization, pricing, monetization, and retention on one side; product strategy and new launches on the other), and you'll build a deep understanding of customer needs through research, analytics, and internal insight systems. Throughout, you'll use the latest AI tools to meaningfully increase your speed and leverage.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Own product growth and performance for Kits AI across funnel optimization, activation, retention, pricing, and monetization.
  • Drive Kits product strategy: identify high-impact opportunities and launch product and growth initiatives that move the business.
  • Productize new ML capabilities into valuable creator-facing products and workflows, partnering closely with research and engineering.
  • Develop a deep customer understanding through user interviews, analytics, and automated customer insight pipelines.
  • Track product performance in our data-analysis platform, own experimentation, and use data to make sharp prioritization calls.
  • Leverage the latest AI tools to dramatically accelerate your workflow, from shipping features directly to production with AI coding tools to building custom internal systems for customer insight, research, and product discovery.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2-5 years of product management experience in a fast-moving, consumer or creator-facing environment, ideally a highly autonomous startup environment.
  • A track record of driving growth, product quality, or business performance through product work.
  • Comfort operating across strategy, execution, analytics, and customer research.
  • A metrics-informed mindset: fluent in funnel analysis, product analytics, and event tracking platforms like Amplitude.
  • Experience working on AI- or ML-powered products, or closely with research and engineering teams.
  • Strong judgment, high agency, and the ability to go from ambiguous opportunity to shipped product without waiting to be told.
  • Enthusiasm for using the latest AI tools to increase speed, leverage, and execution quality.

NICE TO HAVES:
  • Experience in music, creator tools, or the broader creative industry.
  • Familiarity with growth funnels, pricing and monetization experiments, or lifecycle engagement.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted workflows for research synthesis, spec writing, or internal tooling.

SPLICE BENEFITS:
  • Compensation & Equity: Competitive pay with annual reviews and equity opportunities.
  • Time Off: Unlimited PTO to recharge and thrive.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents.
  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with immediate vesting and company match.
  • Parental Support: 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for non-birthing parents, and 18-20 weeks for birthing parents.
  • Flexible Work Options: Work remotely or connect at our office hubs and creative spaces worldwide.
  • Professional Growth: Annual learning budget, leadership programs, and team ambassador opportunities.
  • Community & Connection: Inclusive events, team meet-ups, and vibrant Employee Resource Groups.

The national pay range for this role is $148,320 - $185,400. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
