Job description

MPM is currently accepting applications for Utility/Custodial Worker positions. While there are no current vacancies on our custodial team, we are always accepting applications. The duties of our custodians are as follows:
  • Performs general cleaning and custodial duties - clean, disinfect. sanitize. dust, vacuum, wash/wax/polish furniture, clean carpets, walls and windows
  • Properly uses equipment and appropriate technique for mopping. scrubbing, stripping, waxing. and burnishing floors
  • Maintains and monitors operation of all equipment - cleaning schedule & upkeep repair log
  • Safely cleans up bio -hazard spills (fully trained in Blood Borne Pathogens)
  • Cleans, disinfects, and sanitizes restroom facilities and keep fully supplied with towels, soap, and tissue
  • Sets up & take down of chairs, tables, and props for internal/external events
  • Maintains walks, shovels snow, and performs exterior cold weather duties as required
  • Collects and disposes of rubbish and trash

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GEO required
  • Previous custodial experience strongly preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record required preferred
  • Must be able to work a forty (40) hour work week and overtime when needed, which includes first and second shifts and may include nights and/or weekends for special event programming
  • Must be able to operate computer to access e-mail and access the telephone messaging center
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing independent evaluations and decisions
  • Must be able to regularly stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; frequently lift 50 pounds, and/or move up to 100 pounds, and move 500 pounds on a cart; occasionally sit and talk or hear
  • Must be able to climb stairs, carry equipment up and down stairs, and safely climb ladders up to 20 feet
