Description
Performs clerical and administrative functions and related duties as assigned in support of the Building Division.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
General supervision is provided by the Building Division supervisory staff. The position may receive task-related input and guidance from other personnel as needed to complete assignments from division supervisory staff.
Examples of Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparing hardcopy documents and plans for digitization.
  • Scanning documents into electronic format.
  • Document management of electronic records.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications
An appropriate combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required skills, knowledge, and abilities is qualifying.
Knowledge of:
  • Modern office practices, procedures, methods and equipment, including computer systems and software.
  • English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Ability to:
  • Perform office duties, tasks, and clerical work with accuracy, in a governmental environment.
  • Operate and use modern office equipment, including computer equipment, scanners, and software at a speed necessary for adequate performance of assigned duties.

  • Education: Ongoing coursework equivalent to or exceeding the nineth grade level is required. Completion of education equivalent to twelfth grade is preferred.

  • Other: Must pass appropriate background checks. Must be a minimal employable age as defined by the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), meet school attendance requirements as defined by the California Department of Education as applicable, and be able to obtain a work permit if required.
