Summary/Function
We are seeking a Fixed Income Underwriting Specialist - Municipal Bonds to join the Fixed Income Capital Markets division in Denver, CO and Omaha, NE. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and communication skills, a high degree of emotional intelligence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
Qualifications
  • Proactive, analytical approach with the ability to process information quickly and accurately and make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and project management skills, with a strong ability to collaborate.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new systems or programs as needed; strong Excel skills are a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred; experience in trade support or fixed income is a plus.
  • FINRA Series 52 license required within 90 days of employment; SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 required within 6 months.

Duties
  • Research industry and financial market trends, run data queries, and analyze information requested by internal and external partners.
  • Process trades accurately across trading systems; research, analyze, and resolve related issues using appropriate tools and resources.
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure deals are posted correctly, provide month-end information, and deliver profit/loss reports to support accurate trade posting.
  • Support the marketing of the firm's municipal bond underwritings.
  • Coordinate with Public Finance Bankers and Sales Representatives to support information flow for marketing and pricing new issues.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of each issue's structure and unique features; review bond documents for accuracy and timely information sharing during marketing, including preparation of selected new-issue materials as needed.
  • Support Underwriting Desk objectives and contribute to firm profitability by providing insight on scales, the municipal market, trades, and inventories.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned, including backing up department roles or training new personnel when needed.

$33.65 - $38.46 an hour
The potential base pay hiring range for this role is $33.65 - $38.46 per hour. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate. This role is eligible to participate in applicable D.A. Davidson variable compensation programs.
