SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Senior Marketing, Communications & Digital Specialist is a hands-on, execution focused role responsible for advancing C.D. Smith’s marketing, digital presence, and communication in support of business growth.

This role assumes full ownership of digital strategy, website management, inbound activity, and marketing platforms. In addition, the role supports project pursuits, client and community engagement, and visual storytelling through design and multimedia.

This position is for a proactive marketing professional who combines strategy with execution by designing, writing, facilitating, and engaging to help ideas take root and grow.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Marketing, Communications & Design

• Develop clear, compelling written and visual content that supports business development and brand consistency

• Design marketing, pursuit, event, and communication materials using Adobe Creative Suite

• Execute marketing campaigns and initiatives with speed, quality, and clarity

Digital Strategy & Website Ownership

• Own and execute digital marketing strategy supporting credibility, recruiting, pursuits, and growth

• Manage website content, pages, images, forms, and metadata using HubSpot CMS

• Oversee inbound activity through HubSpot, including leads, media inquiries, and community requests

• Define and monitor meaningful performance indicators tied to business outcomes (not vanity metrics)

Project Pursuit Support

• Design and support proposal and pursuit materials tailored to specific clients and opportunities

• Translate strategy into clear messaging and visual storytelling

• Support fast moving pursuits 

• Collaborate closely with business development and project teams

Client Engagement & Client Events

• Plan and support client facing events, including preparation, materials, and follow up

• Interact directly with clients and partners at events and meetings

• Translate insights gained through client interaction into stronger marketing and pursuit support

• Assist with education focused events, initiatives, and outreach

Photo, Video & Multimedia Facilitation

• Plan and facilitate photo and video capture for marketing, recruiting, digital, and pursuit needs

• Develop shot lists and creative direction

• Coordinate with internal teams or external partners as needed for production

• Apply multimedia assets across marketing channels and materials (Hands on capture a plus; strong facilitation required)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7–10+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field 

• Active, hands on proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop 

• Working knowledge of HubSpot (forms, CMS, inbound activity) 

• Strong written and visual communication skills 

• Experience supporting proposals, pursuits, or client facing materials 

• Comfortable interacting with clients, partners, and community stakeholders 

• Highly organized, self directed, and able to manage multiple priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Construction, AEC, or professional services experience a plus

• Experience with photo, video, or multimedia production tools a plus 

• Familiarity with CRM and lead tracking workflows a plus
