Job Position Description:
The ideal candidate will have a strong on-air presence. We are seeking a highly motivated storyteller who embraces breaking news and going live. Strong live reporting skills are necessary. Candidates must have proven experience developing contacts and breaking news stories. Shooting and editing experience is a plus. We are looking for someone who sets the tone with credible journalism, can develop a connection with our viewers and create memorable moments in our newscasts. You must have a winning attitude and want to compete for the "big story" every day. Candidate must be willing to work mornings, nights, and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Must embrace breaking news coverage.
  • Attend the daily editorial meeting and pitch enterprise stories.
  • Establish and maintain news contacts in the community.
  • Shoot, write and edit news stories on tight time schedules.
  • Go live daily.
  • May be asked to fill-in anchor newscasts & cut ins.
  • Be a regular contributor on various social media platforms and engage with the public.
  • Stay informed about content in daily newspapers, competitive websites and follow social media regularly.
  • Interest in investigative journalism is a plus.

Requirements:
  • A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism or English or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in television news reporting
  • Good attitude and team player
  • Strong on-air presentation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good driving record
