Job description

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Madrigal's medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-ฮฒ agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c).

The Director, U.S. Multicultural Marketing, is responsible for developing and executing cultural- and gender-specific marketing strategies that effectively reach and support the needs of diverse patient healthcare provider populations. This role will collaborate closely with key stakeholders in HCP and DTC marketing and other key Commercial/Medical partners to ensure that all initiatives are inclusive, authentic, and supportive of health equity and improved patient outcomes all while being aligned with brand strategy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and contribute towards implementation of an integrated multicultural/inclusive marketing strategy (both unbranded and branded) in support of Rezdiffra and pipeline assets
  • Collaborate in the acquisition of customer and market insights through established and new channels including advisory boards, focus groups, and primary market research to understand the needs, behaviors, and barriers of diverse populations (e.g., women with MASH and other co-morbidities, Hispanic/Latino, African American, Asian and other segments to be defined)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DTC and HCP marketing teams, corporate affairs/patient advocacy, medical affairs, regulatory, and legal to ensure compliant and culturally appropriate content
  • Identify and partner with thought leaders, community organizations, advocacy groups, and healthcare professionals to build trust and engagement within underserved communities
  • Partner with marketing team to evolve and co-create educational campaigns and culturally relevant content across channels (digital, print, social media, patient education materials)
  • Ensure all marketing materials comply with pharmaceutical regulatory (e.g., FDA/OPDP requirements), legal and medical guidelines and policies.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance, using insights to optimize future initiatives
  • Manage relationships with agencies and vendors

Required & Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Health, or related field (MBA or MPH preferred)
  • 12-15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare marketing or advertising experience with significant experience specifically in multicultural marketing
  • Strong understanding of cultural nuances and health disparities across diverse populations; multilingual candidates preferred
  • Experience working within regulated environments (pharma/biotech strongly preferred)
  • Knowledge of FDA advertising and promotion guidelines
  • Domestic business travel up to 20%
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies

Base salary is determined by several factors including the candidate's qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs and market demands. As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position, applicable to all candidates, is $218,000 - $266,000 per year. We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
